With the yearend coming, Hyundai Corporation Group Volunteer Service Society visited \u2018Guryong Village at Gaepo-dong, Gangnam-gu, Seoul-si\u2019 to deliver \u2018the 2019 Love Briquette Sharing Support Donation\u2019 collected by executives and staff members on the morning of Dec. 7 (Sat), and returned after carrying out \u2018Love Briquette Sharing Voluntary Service Activity\u2019 together with 100-or-so support angels who joined this event. <\/p>\n

The donation delivered to the relevant village by the Volunteer Service Society on that day was 6.13 million won in total, amounting to the size of the value for about 7,663 briquettes on the basis of 800 won per briquette. This donation collected through the warm sponsorship of Hyundai Corporation Group executives and staff members for 7 business days from Nov. 25 until Dec.3 is to be preciously used for the time to come through Bapsang(Dining Table) Community Foundation-\u2018Seoul Briquette Bank\u2019, which is giving help to the residents of the vulnerable social group. The Hyundai Corporation Group Volunteer Service Society extended expressions of special gratitude to the in-house supporters who collected donation surpassing the initially expected goal again this year following last year.<\/p>\n

Following donation delivery, the Volunteer Service Society proceeded with the briquette delivery activity for the residents at Guryong Village for about two hours by dividing the members, who subscribed to \u2018Briquette Sharing Volunteer Service Activity, and about 100-or-so support angels in Seoul district, who participated on the very day in the capacity of \u2018Hyundai Corporation Group Volunteer Service Briquette Delivery Team consisting of 12 supporters, in three groups. The allocated number of briquettes, which were delivered by Hyundai Corporation Group Volunteer Service Briquette Delivery Team, was about 1,000, and the same Society rendered the warmth of love to the residents through this activity in spite of nippy weather due to the visit of the winter season. <\/p>\n

Meanwhile, the Hyundai Corporation Group Volunteer Service Society, which was first formed as a spontaneous service worker gathering in June last year, has also steadily carried out the free meal service activity for the dwellers at \u201cCompact Rooms\u201d in the vicinity of the company twice every month this year following last year. In August last year, the same Society provided 200 servings of Ginseng Chicken Soup to the residents so that they could beat the sweltering heat of summer, and further also supplied the sealing machine for packing lunch boxes for efficient packing process in November. In addition, the same Society wrapped up this year\u2019s activity with the activity of collecting donation from in-house executives and staff members, and participation in briquetted service for Guryong Village dwellers\u2019 warm wintering. <\/p>\n

The Hyundai Corporation Group Volunteer Service Society is also planning the activity for giving assistance to the neighbors in need next year. The free meal volunteer service activity for the dwellers at Donui-dong compact room village will continue even next year, and also the same Society is planning to mount the events like collecting old clothes for the homeless, helping socio-economic farm workers, and assisting physically\/mentally impaired adolescents, etc. <\/p>\n
