Yemen LNG project, which our company is in, successfully finished its first gas shipping.

Shipping 66 thousand ton of LNG for Korea was successfully done, and the ceremony for the first shipping was held at 10 am, 7th of November (local time), at the production line located in Balhalf Harbour, the southern Yemen. Especially at this ceremony, Yemen president Ali Abdullah Salleh attended and celebrated the success of Yemen's biggest gas project. From Korea, including our company Natural Resources Division's Senior Vice President Kim, won-ki, major figures of SK Energy, Korea Gas Corporation, and other companies joined the ceremony.

Taking this shipment as start, Yemen LNG project will supply 2 million ton of LNG to Korea yearly for 20 years. This amount reaches even 7% of Korea's yearly LNG consumption (2700 ton), and the process of supply will be done by Korea Gas Corporation, one of dealers of the project. To other countries including America, Europe, and Atlantic countries, global energy companies such as GDF-Suez, Total Gas & Power will supply them with 4.7 million ton per one year.


Thanks to the success of Yemen LNG, Hyundai Corporation secured long-term profit source, which guarantees 25-30 billion won of dividend yield for 20 years stably. Also, it seems Hyundai Corporation's profitability and company value will be elevated, too. It is such a fruitful result in 12 years, since 1997.

Hyundai Corporation succeeded in acquiring a stable long-term profit source. Based on this, we will make full use of our own know-how of natural resource development and participate in more valuable natural resource developments.
