Hyundai Corporation invests in natural resources projects to bolster its profitability. The Natural Resources Team is responsible for identifying, investing in and monitoring these high value-adding businesses. Even though resources development is a very risky business, we have achieved outstanding outcomes for 30 years. This demonstrates our vast experience and expertise.
In accordance with the Corporation’s mandate to secure a stable profit foundation and further diversify it, the Natural Resources Team has acquired interests in several successful projects; projects of Oman LNG, Qatar LNG, and Vietnam gas fields. Also, we are promoting Yemen LNG project.
As coal/mineral development, we are mining and trading coals from Australian Drayton coal mine. Australian Drayton coal mine is the first overseas resources development business in Korea, and development of soft coal mine in Saddlers Creek is in the process.
Currently, we are promoting our businesses toward attractive regions such as Middle East, Southeast Asia, North America, and Oceania. Moreover, based on our long-term experience and know-how, we will search for potential regions consistently and promote our businesses even more actively.
