Having 70 times larger land than Korea, Australia is a rich repository of natural resources. Australia’s reserves of LNG, uranium, zinc, and nickel and exports of iron ore and coal are rank first all over the world.
On the basis of mutual trust for last half-century, Korea and Australia have been building sincere relationship as allied nations. Besides, the countries’ economic partnership is getting more and more important as investments in Australian infrastructure – power utilities, port facilities, pipeline construction, and railroad cars– are increasing.

In 1981, Hyundai Australia took the initiative in exploiting Australian resources starting with the Drayton Mine business, which is the first Korean overseas resources development project.
