Hyundai Corporation carried out eight weeks of training for new employees, who were hired through the public recruitment period of December 22, 2014 to February 13, 2015.

The revised training program contains more modules in which new employees can participate, as well as outdoor experiential programs designed as a departure from the previous style. Moreover, the new training camp is said to be very effective, even though the education is ongoing.

Particularly, the curriculum of the training camp assigns new employees the tasks of participating in plays that contain the core values of Hyundai and making music videos that express the company’s official song. Such tasks are said to have significantly motivated the creativity and activeness of the new employees. Additionally, the course includes activities such as “expressing our company with bodily movements” and quiz games, walking along Namsan Castle, a factory tour and outdoor activities. Various missions such as the simulation of developing new businesses are also assigned.

New employees participating in the training expressed great satisfaction in their comments on the training. Comments included the following: “It was an opportunity to learn about the spirit of Hyundai”‘ “I was able to raise my loyalty to the company”; “It was a great opportunity to learn the basic stance as a new employee, such as creativity, sense of ownership and responsibility”; “I was able to get motivated and raise the camaraderie”; “The experience of solving and completing the tasks with my creativity will be a big help in practice”; and “It was very helpful in raising my potential as well as my confidence and enthusiasm.”*
