New Renewable IPP of Industrial Plant Division of HYUNDAI Corporation established ‘Integrated monitoring system of photovoltaic power generation’ and entered into full-scale operation.

Before establishing the integrated monitoring system till now, we could identify the operation of power plant and power performance only through management program provided by inverter maker (an equipment to change the direct current power produced from photovoltaic power plant from DC to AC) used in the existing photovoltaic power plant unit 1 to 4 respectively.

However, as the maker was different for each power plant, we had inconvenience to manage by using individual login and we had to connect the system to check the operation situation of power plant and failure possibility. Furthermore, there were many cases that we could not check whether the power plant is operating normally due to frequent errors.

To solve these problems, new renewable IPP Unit became to establish the integrated monitoring system that manages all power plants by unifying as one system and enhances the monitoring function and improves the stability of operation of power plant and now it is available to check the system easily by PC or mobile anytime and anywhere.

The integrated monitoring system shows the possibility to run solar module, connecting board, inverter of power plant and the voltage and current at real time. The total amount of power generation is displayed by classifying into day, month and year to identify the numeric values easily and these all data are saved by Excel-sheet to use as database.

In addition, the system enhanced the safety management so that it can check the status of power plant once every three seconds and if problem occurred, the message will be sent to the person in charge by kakao talk or SMS automatically in order to monitor the power plant at real time.

New Renewable IPP Unit said, “We focused on the development of new business by last year but from this year, we became to establish the system in the aspect to enhance the efficiency of risk management and operation with the development of H2-H3 business.” and added “Today we are in the era that all industries are combined with soft technology such as big data and IT. Our photovoltaic power business is also scheduled to use IT technology actively for user convenience and consumer satisfaction.”

New Renewable IPP Unit is operating photovoltaic power plant unit 1~4 in our country and additionally, is scheduled to complete Unit 5 & 6 at Muju, Jeonbuk and Gwangyang, Jeonnam by July this year and start the commercial operation.

In addition, new renewable IPP Unit expanded the photovoltaic business in Sizoka, Japan. KUROMATA power plant, the No.1 overseas photovoltaic power plant has finished all the licensing necessary for construction and now they started the construction. For this, we have a plan to establish a local SPC ‘HYUNDAI Renewable Lab Japan’ and expand the photovoltaic power plant in Japan in the future.
