You have traveled a long way. Could you tell me about your impression of Korea?

Because Turkey actively participated in the Korean War, it has maintained a deep historical tie with South Korea. The two countries are geographically distant but psychologically close. That’s why South Korea doesn’t feel very strange to me. Moreover, because I’ve worked in a Korean company, I’m familiar enough with Korean culture to be regarded as a Korean instead of a Turk. Now that I’m with the family of Hyundai Corporation, I feel much more familiar with this country.

You seem to know a lot about Korea.

Of course, I know a lot. I have worked for 14 years–which is the longest–at Hyundai Corporation since 2001. I’m familiar with Korea thanks to my job, but I’ve also learned about the country based on my personal interest and affection. In particular, studying the history of South Korea, I often think it’s amazing and wonderful that this small country, whose sole resource is “persons,” could have developed into this great nation.

Could you comment on visiting the headquarters?

It was good to be able to talk face to face with people in the Sales Department. No matter how far our communication tools have been developed, the quality of information can be completely different from what can be obtained through face-to-face communication. It was great to spend some time looking people in the eyes, using body language. I was also able to obtain comprehensive knowledge concerning the company, which can be easily overlooked in the field. Thanks to this opportunity, my pride of being a staff member at Hyundai Corporation has increased dramatically.

Could you please tell me your final comment?

I think it was the best opportunity in my life to meet Hyundai Corporation. I’ve worked for the company for a long time, but I feel there’s still a lot to learn from this good company. *
