Our company successfully obtained the order of a total of 530 billion Won to supply subway trains to Manila, the Philippines in conjunction with Hyundai Rotem corp. and then, we made the related contract with the local implementing agency, ULC(Universal LRT Corporation Limited) on 25(Thursday).

This order is for the new route connecting North EDSA Station of Quezon city in Manila, the Philippines to San Jose Del Monte Station located in Bulacan. Hyundai Rotem corp. is scheduled to make electric generation systems such as 108 electric railcars and signals, communications, electric power, etc. for this line by the second half of 2019.

This contract is the case that our company enters the electric railcar market of the Philippines for the first time and it is the biggest scale among the projects that Hyundai Rotem corp. has gotten from the Philippine market so far. In addition, it is also the first ‘turn-key(all or none basis)’ project to supply electric generation systems including supply of trains to overseas market.

In regard to this case, the Commercial Vehicle Team said “the first successful story of overseas turn-key bid will be a good stepping stone to obtain orders for railcars projects from the Southeast Asian market in the future” and they added “In spite of tough market situation, we will try to win additional contracts continuously through close cooperation with Hyundai Rotem corp.”
