DEC 13, 2012

심폐소생술-생활응급처치 재교육 현장

For 2 days from 13th(Thu.) to 14th(Fri.), our company gave all the employees a retraining of CPR and first aid methods to save the life of emergency patients.

The purpose of the training session in this day was to improve the response ability for emergency situations by learning CPR that is essential to save the life of emergency patients who have lost their consciousness and enhance the ability to cope with emergency situations that may occur in daily life to prepare perfectly for health care.

Unlike the previous training session that also emphasized the theoretical parts such as the importance of CPR, this training session proceeded focusing more on practical parts in that every trainee was given a human body model for practice. The previous slogan, ‘Caution, 1302’ for the CPR procedure was also changed to ‘Violation Signal No.30,2’ to make it easier to memorize and an upgraded emergency rescue method including a recommendation to end it with ‘Walnut’.

In the training for first aid methods, various practices including abdominal pressing method that is applied in respiratory obstruction were exercised in pairs. Employees also had to learn how to use automated external defibrillators again.

Instructor O Se-Jo who came from Life Society, said “People tend to forget how to do CPR easily. Therefore, repeated training is important”, and added, “Please remember the way to do the new CPR changed for easier memorization and use it in emergency situations:.

<Summary of Training>

Respiratory Obstruction
Respiratory obstruction is divided into partial respiratory obstruction and complete respiratory obstruction. In case of partial respiratory obstruction, patting the patient on the back or giving water to the patient may worsen the situation. In case of complete respiratory obstruction, If the patient still has consciousness, it is required to perform abdominal pressing, but if the patient is unconscious,  it is required to perform CPR.

Abdominal Pressing
▲ Stand behind the patient, hold his/her waist with your arms and put your leg between the patient’s legs ▲ Clench your fist and put your thumb between the patient’s navel and solar plexus ▲ Hold your fist with the other hand and push it up quickly. ▲ Repeat it until foreign substances are discharged or the patient lose his/her consciousness.

CPR
‘Violation Signal, No.30,2’
– Remove the risk factor. Confirm whether it is a good environment you can perform CPR, get an agreement of the protector or an implied agreement of the patient.
– Check the patient’s reaction. Stimulate the patient’s shoulder muscle and shout at him/her to confirm his/her consciousness. If there is no reaction,
– call the emergency service and get an implantable defibrillator. You may need someone to help you.
– To check the patient’s breath, put the back of your hand on the patient’s nose and and chest for 3 seconds. If there is no breath, start CPR – chest compressions: 30 times and then artificial respiration: twice. Turn the implantable defibrillator on and follow the voice instruction.

Do CPR until ‘Walnut’ Situation.
If the patient’s breath has been recovered, 119 emergency service or another person who will take care of the situation has arrived or your own life is in danger, stop CPR.*
